Nakayama:We had uploaded behind-the-scenes videos before, but the update frequency was not very high.. But a major turning point was the web renewal in November 2024. Taking this opportunity, we also established a system to better link the web and the main magazine. "'We wanted to deliver the "anan" uniqueness in a unified way.

Nakayama: That's right. We have been able to create projects linked to the magazine, expanded interviews that cover what can't be fully conveyed in print, and even original visuals expressed through video. A natural flow of readers moving from video to web and print is emerging.
"anan Road" project, behind the scenes
―― 『Among "anan" video projects, one that caused a particularly big buzz was the "anan Road" by the comedy duo Mitorizu's Moriyama "anan e no Michi". That project had a strong impact from the start, but how did it originally begin?
Matsunaga: It really was by chance, or rather born from very natural casual talk. At the end of 2024, when I interviewed Moriyama for another project, he said, "Even I can 'They said, "Can I be on the cover of "anan"?" I told them, "If you’re serious, I’ll bring it back to the editorial team," and the conversation ended there, but later Yoshimoto Kogyo contacted us saying, "It seems serious" (laughs). From there, the project quickly got underway.
――So it really evolved from casual talk into a big project.
Matsunaga: Yes. We officially started in March 2025, and from then on, it was full throttle. This project was based on three goals set by Moriyama himself: "weight in the 80kg range," "cleanliness," and "adult sexiness." The editorial team supported these goals with full effort.
――I actually heard that they lost about 20kg in just three months.
Matsunaga: That's right. At first, I was worried, thinking, "Will they really do their best...?" but they worked with more discipline than I imagined. After the final shoot, they told me, "My self-esteem has improved," which made me happier than anything. We ourselves realized again the beauty of achieving a goal you set for yourself.

Nakayama: '"anan" has the unique speed of a weekly magazine.
