"From Ginza to the World" Delivering 80 Years of Passion and Curiosity.
"ザツシヲイツシヨニヤラナイカ"
In 1945, just after the end of the war, the magazine "Heibon" was born in the rubble-strewn city of Ginza.
It is the beginning of the "story of two becoming one" with Tatsuo Shimizu, who received a telegram from Kinosuke Iwahori.
「Cherish people, cherish creativity, cherish our readers.」
"Magazine House" has delivered various cultures, lifestyles, and entertainment to readers through editing magazines, books, manga, and digital media over 80 years under three company mottos driven by passion and curiosity.
To commemorate this 80th anniversary, we will hold the 80th Anniversary Magazine House Exhibition in collaboration with Ginza Sony Park. Known for its unique space, Ginza Sony Park is a "park in the city" and has "margin" where visitors can freely enjoy themselves.
Magazine making is also a "confrontation with margin."
How meticulously can we fill the margin, and how boldly can we strip away information?
"Margin" means the "potential" of people, the "aesthetic sense" of creativity, and the "dialogue" with readers.
From Ginza to readers around the world, we hope you fully enjoy the 80-year journey of "Magazine House", the diverse challenges expanding into the future, and the "margin" and "experience" that could only be realized at Ginza Sony Park.
